Follow the law with Constitution Day resources

Federal law designates all schools that receive federal funds hold an educational event about the Constitution during this September 17th event. The following links contain a wide number of resources to help.

For older students, I recommend having them do research and become one of the signers of the Constitution. Using my living spreadsheet method, have students walk around the classroom with posters explaining what was unique about each signer, as well as their 5W’s and H.  And include a map of where they lived.

Students can take notes and at the end of the period vote; then have them sign a replica of the Constitution. This lesson integrates art, reading, social studies, and gets the students moving around the room and taking notes from one another.
