See the light with graphic organizers
Graphic organizers, also known as mind or concept maps, are a visual way to organize information. Often they help students compress and connect large amounts of disjointed information so it’s digestible. The process of building the organizer helps student understand and remember concepts, as well as solve problems.

These sites not only explain how to use graphic organizers and Venns, but give examples in most all content areas. You’ll find lots of free printables, too.
